3D-points

3D-Points are general reference points in 3 dimensions with the global coordinates X, Y, Z. X and Y are the coordinates in the ground plan, Z is the level in the elevation.

Attention: At one plan position (X,Y) only one point can exist. The tolerance to recognize equal points is set to 1.e-8 (radius around the point).

All existing points are collected in a list. This list is can be opened by  clicking the arrow symbol next to the edit box for the points.

Available actions for points

SettingDescription
Mark and unmark points

Points can be marked by two ways:

Marked points appear in red color in the list and in yellow color in the graphic window. Points are unmarked by clicking anywhere in the graphic area.

Point list

A point is defined by its name and three coordinates. The points are sorted alphabetically. Two points with the same name or the same coordinates can not exist.

Insert a point

A new point can be inserted in the opened point list by using the symbols "Insert before" or "Insert after". The points are sorted by name in the list. Therefore, both symbols have the same meaning.

Modify a point

A selected point can be edited by using the Modify tool. All 4 input windows at the end of the list can be used. After having modified the desired values confirm your modification with the Apply tool.

Delete points

All selected points can be deleted by using the Delete tool. A confirmation is requested.

Activate a point

A point is activated if it appears in the edit box for points.

Note: Presently, an activated point has no meaning for further work.
Import points

It is possible to import points from an ASCII file that has the format of the TDV program ROAD7. A corresponding button can be found at the bottom of the window.

Export points

Points can be written into an ASCII file in a format of TDV's program ROAD7. An appropriate button can be found at the bottom of the list.

Note: only selected points (<CTRL> + mouse click on the list) will be exported
